Vijayan also accused RSS of training its cadre for organising and conducting various attacks.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has been going through one of the toughest phases in his political career. Pinarayi’s actions, from being unfriendly to media to protecting people like DGP Loknath Behra, have landed him in a soup.
In the latest controversy sparked off by Minister for Power MM Mani’s crass remarks on ‘Penbilai Orumai’ - a collective of tea plantation workers, Pinarayi has been justifying Mani saying that he was ‘misquoted’.
On Tuesday at a media award function, the CM asked the mainstream media to introspect.
Pinarayi even pointed out that media persons themselves have been scrutinising their own mistakes at the present time. “The social media also criticizes certain practices of mainstream media. Therefore it’s better to find out what is wrong,” Pinarayi said, Times of India reports.
He suggested that the media should take steps to rectify their mistakes.
Pinarayi also lashed out at RSS during the Assembly session on Tuesday. In a reply to MLA John Fernandez, he said when a child joins the RSS, it doesn’t do anything to enhance his humanity or cultural consciousness.
The New Indian Express reports that Vijayan also accused RSS leadership of training its cadre for organising and conducting various attacks.
The CM even alleged that the motive behind killing a madrassa teacher in Kasargode was to unleash communal riots.
